Ever stared at your blank and boring walls at home feeling like it needs some decorating? Or realised one day that your plain old room needs a revamp. Immediately. Only, your current budget isn’t allowing it. Well, what if we told you that there was a way you could transform your room with that one statement piece. On a budget. And help struggling artists while you’re at it. Sounds like a score, doesn’t it? Introducing CirculArt.
What is Circulart?
CirculArt is an online platform where you can lease some of the trendiest art pieces by up-and-coming artists for an affordable price and have it sent to your doorstep. It’s the convenience of having a wide collection of art pieces at your fingertips. It’s the perfect place to browse for your next favourite piece of art, as an avid art lover or someone who just loves variety at home.
The struggle of starting artists to get recognized. Huge amounts of art waste being produced. A lack of affordable art for the masses. We don’t perceive these three problems separately. To us, these problems present a gap to be filled. The art you can lease from us is art made by art students or starting artists who are not yet known. Often, it’s difficult for an artist to obtain recognition and gallery representation when they are not that known yet. CirculArt provides platform for these artists to get recognition for their work. Simultaneously, we try to make art accessible to the masses. For you, it means that you get the newest of the newest art for an affordable price. This is because of the fact that the art pieces are not immensely popular yet due to which we can give you subscriptions for reasonable prices.
Our start-up also stimulates you to make a contribution to circular economy. So what does this exactly mean? Instead of buying an art piece made of resources we are running out of and throwing the art away when you don’t like it anymore, we give new life to the piece. Also the art made by students is not being used yet and thrown away, with choosing this art you help reduce the waste-economy.
How does it work?
We provide a subscription based art leasing system. In order to make use of this, there are only a few simple steps you need to take and Viola! You’ve entered the CirculArt world. You start by making an account online and then pick a subscription package on the basis of how many artworks you would like to lease. Then you simply check out your favourite art pieces which will be brought to your doorstep. So you pay us a certain amount of money every month or year, that’s totally up to you and in exchange for that you get to pick some beautiful artworks to take home. When you’re done with it you can bring it back to us and pick out some new pieces. We provide different prices based on different subscriptions.

Fenna de Korte
“My neighbour has a circular driveway… he can’t get out.”
~ Steven Wright
Fenna is our cornerstone when it comes to creativity in what we write. With her sense for sarcasm at the right time, everything you will read of hers becomes heaven. Sometimes we ask her what the key is for this creative writing and her only answer is coffee. Her answer is always coffee. How does she work, study and sport? Coffee. How will she finish her Public Administration study? Coffee. Besides coffee she has affection for reading, and not just any books, no anything of Stephen King and you won’t be able to speak to her for the next couple of hours. Her big dream is that nothing has to be thrown away ever again, there is always a way to reuse it, we just might not have found it yet.
“Science makes life sustainable, but art makes it worth living”
Rafaël drives us all to strive for something better, something more efficient, something more beautiful. He is our socialising power when we have new meetings. He has no limit in his excitement, which creates a creative chaos for the rest of us to organize. But then something amazing can arise. And when we have found our idea together, Rafaël is the person we turn to. He can create and design it like no one else. The ultimate goal: leave a legacy behind, something tangible for the world. Furthermore he likes discovering new and exciting things, making music and playing football.
“In a gentle way, you can shake the world”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
Caitlin is most passionate about food and drinks and combining those two in a perfect mix. She does this in her daily life in a Belgian Beer Cafe, where she helps her customers to find the ideal special beer to match the meals. To our team she adds a lot of spontaneity, which we sometimes appreciate and sometime have to regulate a bit. Her spontaneity is countered by this idea of ‘attention, focus & concentration’. These three things have to be taken into account everytime; when you brush your teeth in the morning, when you decide what to eat, when you think of what kind of world you want to live in. This drives her to find a new way to organize our economy, an economy in which we act responsible and accept the limits of what the earth has to offer us. And if we really want to make a change, we have to start at the core of our economy.
