Do you find it difficult to get a higher position in your company? Or have the idea that everybody around you gets that promotion except you? Is the talent disappearing in your company because they do not feel challenged enough?
Then we have the solution for you, namely the Role Model program. We are Unlock and we are a group of students at Leiden University who are ambitious to combat gender inequality. Exploring Gender Equality in the Netherlands, we found out that there are very few women in the top positions in companies.
How might this be? Compared to men, women often lack the courage to ask for promotion, they need to be inspired and they need confidence. Our solution is providing career role models. What many young female workers miss is a career role model that helps them with the do's and dont’s in getting higher up in the company and motivate them so they can reach the top positions. Career role models will be linked to young female employees inside their company, where the coaching sessions will occur. It is as simple as grabbing a cup of coffee together.
This is not only beneficial for the young female employees, but also for the companies themselves. The companies will help their talents in the company reach their full potential so that they will eventually stay within the company. They will also get greater diversity in their top positions, which is good for their PR and encourages more innovative and creative incentives. So, do you want to contribute to exploiting full female potential in companies? We would like to launch this project together with you!

What will we spend our money on?
We are aiming to fund 235 euros.
With raising 75 euros we want to provide a nice gift for the career role models who invest their time in our Role Model Program. If we could raise 150 euros we could invest it in the presents and something to eat and something to drink during the program.
With the funding raised up until 210 euros we can hire a personal trainer who will explain everything we need to know about the conscious competence training. When 235 euros are funded we can provide gifts, food and drinks, a personal trainer, a printed guide which the pairs can use and additional flyers which we can use as campaigning.
When funding 300 euros we are going to invest it in the previous mentioned matters and hire places where we can have our program.
If 500 euros will be reached we wish to print pamphlets to give to potential customers in order for them to understand our service and to gain publicity. We will hire a graphic designer to create this pamphlet with us. This will be additionally to the previous mentioned action points.
The people behind Unlock:
Zana Wiedijk, Campaign leader
International Relations and Organizations, Leiden University
"I want men and women to have the same opportunities to develop in any social field such as family, education, work and leisure. I always had a very fair sense of justice and believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity in life. What every person then does with this opportunity lies entirely with him or her. What I want to do at least with my chance is to make the world a little bit better. If everyone contributes, the world will eventually look a lot better!
My ambition is to work later with a non-governmental organization dealing with human rights. I see that there is still too much wrong in the world and in our country about human rights. Therefore, I would like to actively contribute to changing the situation in which people live."
